I recently sanded and polyurethaned the floors in one room in by house. After almost a week the oder is still present in the room which I have sealed off. I left windows open and had an exhaust fan running most of this time. What's the best way to remove this oder?

My 8 month old desktop PC's exhaust fan runs in abnormally high speed and some "tik-tik" sound also can be heard from it. It has 2 fans fixed in it, and both are working simultaneously. What could be the reason of this high RPM (varying) and that sound?

The specifications of my PC are:

Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU 3.40 GHz
3.99 GHz, 1.99n GB of RAM

OS: Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 3

i am trying to tile kitchen back splash in an old house. after peeling off old peeling wall paper and removing the exhaust cover i find the backer board has glue on it, and the board has cup size hole in the top corner, the exhaust fan hole is huge almost the size of the cover. what can i do to remove the glue ( could i try nail polish remover) and what can i do about these holes in backer board? could i build up with joint tape and the adhesive or grout? i was thinking luon but the stuff at store seemed 1/4 think and that would bring wall out to the window casing. and make my surface uneven.**** Also my glass tile is net backed and every jar or pre mixed adhesive says not for glass but mine has the net and the guy at store says that it is fine, and i have non sanded grout Is IT OK to use these or will tile drop off wall??????

My office is being remodeled. I have been exposed to all sorts of chemical odors...tar (parking lot paving) , new carpet, paint, polyurethane, carpet cleaner etc. I have tried to open windows, use the exhaust fan and of course get fresh air as much as possible. Will the baby be ok? I'm nervous....I obviously have not told work about the pregnancy and don't plan on telling them until 12-14 weeks.

i don't want to cut a hole in my roof to vent it, but the bathroom is at the middle of the house so the nearest window to vent it is about 25 feet away - will this venting work?

My PC started freezing while playing games and when I pressed alt- Del- ctrl, the task manager shows nothing every task is gone, and then nothing moves, nothing clicks, no sound, just simply dead!! (or passed out, to be correct). I will have to reboot it for it to start. So I stop playing games on it. But recently it started doing that when I am just using it regularly and more often during the last few days.
So I decided to dust it off, I took the heat sink, the power supply box and the video card out and blow them with a?air dustera, and then put everything back the right way, everybody is happya.now this time it completely failed to boot up and instead it started beeping continuously without stopping, I thought it was an error or something at first, so I started counting the beeps, I lost count coz it kept beeping, but I also noticed that the fan on the power supply is slowing down, kinda like its gonna shut down. So like everyone else I took everything out again and put them back in hoping maybe I did not put them back right the first timeaguess what, more beeping and no bootinga.I am exhausted, please help !

We have a bathroom with a toilet, 15 cubic meters and we want to eliminate (after) toilet odor as fast as possible. We have available window (1m^2) which can tilt-open a bit, and a ceiling ventilation, 1 meter from the window, which pumps the air out through a vertical exhaust shaft.

The dispute is, will the air change faster when the exhaust ventilation fan is running and the window is open, or when the fan is running and the window is closed?
Keeping the window open will allow more fresh air to come in but the fan, being 1m from the window, may just pump out the fresh air that it gets from the window and not the old air from the other parts of the room.
Some experimenting was done but no conclusive answer was reached. What would be the intuitive approach?

Using PCSpecialist.co.uk I'm building an AMD Gaming RIG.

Now The problem is, I want to be able to play Crysis nicely, have the system future proof, be able to play Modern Warfare 2 Maxed out graphics, and other future games on max or as close as.

Now The problem is I have A?1000. That is enough some might think however I do not wish to spend more than A?865 on Computer because I still need to buy the Logitech G11 Keyboard, a decent Laser mouse, a Creative Fatal1ty headset, an that adds up about A?85. Leaving me with a small amount to pre-order Modern Warfare and I want to get World of Warcraft as well as Subcribe for 6 months.

Now that brings the price to A?862 Which is OK. I'll have enough to buy some games. Subscribe to Warcraft and pre-order Modern Warfare 2.

Now the thing that worries me is that it isn't Quad, and that Tri-Cores never really lifted off the ground.

2nd of all, the price elevates to A?913. That's without the awesome keyboard I want. Then when I do buy the Awesoem keyboard, mouse, and headset then I'm left with about 20p to buy a game. (Won't happen)

I don't want to make the wrong choice.

People say don't compromise on processors and I don't want to drop price on the case and choose a smaller one with less intake/exhaust fans because my room is very hot alot of the time even with the windows open, and I also like the dust covers.

I won't use newegg or anything else because I'm not building it myself. I'm using www.pcspecialist.co.uk

I already have a 20" Samsung Syncmaster 2032MW 1680x1050 - 5ms HDTV Monitor/TV, Logitech X-230 2.1 Stereo Speakers, and a Logitech Quickcam 10 - 1.3MP Camera.

I need this system to run for a long time. And I don't want to upgrade it for as long as possible either but I picked the mobo and case for just that reason - ability to upgrade if need be.

Also regardless of whatever CPU I choose is that CPU cooler going to keep my processor cool in a antec 1200 case in a warm room, an maybe during overclocking? (maybe overclock 400mhz-600mhz MAX)

Please help. If you have to use www.PCspecialist.co.uk yourself to mess about with available build options to cut cost, first click build my own > AMD > Crossfire System.

I don't want dual-core. Please give me as much info as possible and some recommendations.

Please answer as many questions as possible shown in this question.

The main thing is the choice between Triple-Core and Quad. Although I need to save money to buy games. :( Confused :(

Thanks
So X3 it is? It'd save me a good A?60-70. Which allows for some gamage! :)

I agree. I've read in a lot of forums its GPU slavery that does the leg-work mostly. I just hope my X3 won't die off in 2 years.

I'll keep the Antec 1200, again coz of my hot room, an I think I'll go with the X3 720 Black Edition 2.8Ghz. Are you sure this will suffice for Crysis and Modern Warfare 2 on MAX?

Is the CPU cooler enough for my CPU. I do intend on Overclocking the X3 720 to 3.2GHz.

Thanks so far everyone, Lord I sense you are being honest, so I'm grateful.
I'd probably stick with a X3 720 til the last second. Unless I had to critially update due to every game needing quads.

Please remember that this is the very rough draft of the first chapter and I just wrote it today. There are many punctuation mistakes along with wrong spellings and misuse of the words. So bare with me lol. Please let me know what you think but this is a rough draft so many changes will probably be made.. thanks guys!!!

oh my story is about a girl that became really famous at a really young age. She's a singer and an actress (very talented singer and a very sought out for actress) and she used her fame for good like starting chairites, helping people and the enviorment, and standing up for people who were getting lied about and judged. (doing so she got herself known in other countries) Then something really terrible happens (a maniac fan kills her family and hospitliazes her after he thinks she's rejecting his love) and the media attacks the situation. Asking how the man got around securty and the alarm system and how he knew where she lived. And they cook up this story about how she knew the killer and may have even had involvment in the murder. She begs people to listen but no one will until she writes a beautfiul song and then everyone feels bad for believing the lies.. (those who decided to believe them anyways)
Basically the story is about how lies and judgment can ruin someone who only wants to do good and didn't do any harm.. It's kind of a message I want to get out to people about how wrong it is... anyways.. thanks again lol

Chapter One

I rolled over in my big bed. I couldnat fall asleep. My thoughts were preventing any chance of that. After a few minutes, I sat up and pushed my light brown hair out of my face. The room was dark and the moon was shining in the window casting shadows on my walls. I watched them change shapes. I turned on the light on my end table. The shadows disappeared instantly. The alarm clock read 11: 54 p.m. Six minutes until my eighteenth birthday. I would be considered an adult.
I had been an adult for about a year and a half already. Life had thrown the challenges at me that required me to grow up quickly. My age said seventeen, but my mind spoke differently. Sighing, I pushed the covers off of me. It was obvious it was going to be awhile before I was going to get any sleep. So it would be useless to continue lying in bed. I stood up and stretched, yawning.
My body was exhausted and needed sleep, but I had difficultly falling asleep for about two weeks now. I figured it had something to do with past events. Friends kept asking me if I was alright and even suggested a couple shrinks. Yeah right, like I was going to pay a man to tell me my problems. Not that I had a grudge against that kind of job or anything. I already knew what my problems were and I was dealing with them in my own way.
I walked to my large dresser to look at three small white pieces of paper that lay on it. They were checks. I stared at them for a minute before picking them up, my monthly donation to three different charities and each written for ten thousand dollars. I placed them back on my dresser.
Some of my other charities had stopped my support after the event last year. But these three and five others still accepted my money and help. I had my own charities of course. Though one had been shut down shortly after the eventa Tears welled up in my eyes and I walked away from the dresser, hoping to walk away from the memory. Of course it wasnat that easy. The memory followed me wherever I went.
A brown desk sat at the front of my room next to my walk in closet. Since I wasnat going to sleep anytime soon, I figured I could write in my manuscript for awhile. Maybe that would lure me to bed. After using the hair tie from my wrist, I pulled up my hair up to cool my warm neck.
I sat down and the chair creaked. The manuscript was thick and heavy. I flipped it from the page I was currently on to the front. If memories were creeping up on me tonight, I might as well read about them. Possibly even re-live them if my imagination was acting up as much as everything else seemed to be tonight.
ugh my sentences are a lil choppy.. sorry guys.. and the indentation got messed up when i posted it on here so sorry for that too... the girl's name is Ebony and more description will come when she reads her manuscript of her life so far which will be in chapter two which hasn't been wrote yet
i honestly have absolutly no idea wat KK is tlking about.... but watever im looking for honest reviews so ignore that plz

Has anyone ever stayed in a haunted cabin in the Pigeon Forge/Sevierville area of Tennessee?
For years my family has stayed in that area and never had anything out of sorts happen. Actually, we've never had anything odd like that happen ever.
This past Christmas my husband and I along with my parents and sister stayed in a cabin called "Windswept". It is 3 stories, with spiral staircases that were very difficult to get up and down. We had our two Huskies with us, and they refused to go up or down the stairs. On our first night there was a horrible storm, and water poured through the glass wall of windows. On the last night, I was having a difficult time sleeping. The bedroom door was closed, but the light under the microwave in the kitchen was shining under the door. From where I was lying in bed I could see the door, and suddenly a shadow passed by. I thought it was a family member or my sister's Husky walking around out there and didn't think much of it. My Husky jumped up and ran to sniff under the door as the shadow passed by again, and this time paused for a bit before moving on.
The same night, my sister heard someone playing pool and thought it was my husband. Problem was, he was exhausted and never left the room.
My Mother heard the TV turn on, and said it kept getting louder. When she went out it was static. She turned it off and went back to bed. A while later it happened again.
Fans turned on that had been turned off, as well as lights.
In the morning, I asked who had been in the kitchen...no one had. My sister's Husky had been downstairs shut in a bedroom with my parents the whole night. Even if she had gotten out, she was scared to death of those spiral staircases and refused to go near them.
That was all a little too strange for us, needless to say we were glad we were leaving that morning!
I'm curious if anyone has ever had things happen in that same cabin. I've searched online but can't find anything. I've emailed the company who rented out the cabin and haven't heard anything back yet.
Has anyone had similar experiences in that area?
the_emro - If you were paying attention...it was light from the microwave shining underneath the door...not the moon.

Steve G - Why do you bother?

I've had a battle with my breathing the last 4 months. I have asthma and am on medication to try and control it. I've tried everything.

I bought a new computer a few months ago as well. It does give off some exhaust like all computers, but it does aggitate me when i get close to it. I only spend 2 hours a day max on a comp and i also bought a window fan and a fan that blows at the back of the tower to keep the exhaust away.

Anyone ever have a same experience?

We have increased the size of the exhaust fan and we also have a window in the bathroom and still the paint on the ceiling bubbles and chips, and I get mildew on the grout and in corners. Help??

I can't aford a unit for the house that is 1200-2400 bucks but i want to get a ac unit for my room it has to be without putting a window exhaust outside cause i got a window protector.
I am suffering from the heat even fans doesn't do good i wake up in the middle of the night trying to breath. I need something that cools off my whole room instead of just one part and when i leave it on the whole day i have to put a new fan on its annoying.
please i need a good ac unit that is not expensive and jsut for a room that doesn't go outside for that window exhaust part or whatever its called.

Hi, I'm a college student and I've recently moved into an apartment. When i was at home during the summer, i would usually have the AC running. But now I dont have one..lol. So anyways, its not my WHOLE apartment thats hot. My apartment is actually a comfortable temperature. It's just my room which is stuffy and hot. Especially during the day since the sun is beating down on my room.

So I've decided that I want to purchase a window fan. But I don't know which brand to choose from. Since they're all under 50 dollars I really have no clue which brand is better than the other.

I've also noticed that many fans are able to bring in air from outside or exhaust hot air from inside. And some fans can do both.

So my questions are, what brand of fans have you had a good experience with? One that's not extremely loud, but at the same time keeps a small room nice and comfortable. (Holmes, Honeywell, etc.) And also, what setting is best to keep the fan at during the middle of the day when it is hottest? (ie exhaust both fans, intake outside air with both fans, or have one fan exhausting and the other fan intaking)

I live in southern california so it can get pretty hot during the day.

Thanks in advance for the advice!

Hey, I looked at was Bleh did, and I'ma copy her! :P
So, yeah, here's my vrsion of Twilight in third person. (*Note*- Twilight is Stephenie Meyer's property, and I own none of it. This is something that the public can take for fan fiction.)

And once again; I'm not at all proud of it. It was really hard to be creative with this task, and once I had it finished, I didn't have any time to make more than minor adjustments. Me and deadlines don't work well together. Anyways, here it is. It sucks, but I guess I hope you enjoy it :\

a?Donat worry about me,a? Bella urged her. a?Itall be great. I love you, Mom.a?
They exchanged a tight hug before Bella set off towards the airplane.
***
Two short plane rides and a one hour car ride with Charlie and shead be there. Bella had no problem with flying, but the thought of the car ride made her a bit apprehensive. It was always awkward to be alone with Charlie.
***
Soon, the plane ride ended and Bella stepped off. Charlie was waiting in his police car for her and when Bella neared him, he stepped out and swept her into a short hug.
a?Itas good to see you, Bells,a? he said with a smile. a?You havenat changed much. Howas Renee`?a?
Bella groaned silently. Charlie had never gotten totally over Mom. a?Momas fine. Good to see you too, Dad.a? With that, Bella opened the trunk of the car and dumped the few bags that she had brought into it.
The moment Bellaas seat belt clicked, Charlie spoke up. a?I found a good car for you. Really cheap.a?
One of Bellaas few requests in coming to Forks; she refused to be driven around in a car with red and blue lights flashing all over. She wanted her own car.
a?What kind of car?a? Bella inquired.
a?Well, itas a truck, actually. Chevy.a?
a?Wheread you find it?a?
a?Do you remember Billy down at La Push?a? Charlie asked, referring to the little Indian reservation off the coast.
a?No,a?
a?He used to go fishing with us during the summer,a? he offered.
Bella still didnat remember. She usually tried to put any memories of Forks out of her mind.
When she didnat respond, Charlie continued. a?Heas in a wheel-chair now, and he canat drive, so he offered to sell me his truck cheap.a?
a?What year is it, Dad?a? Bella prompted.
His face fell. a?Well, Billyas been doing a lot of work on the engineaitas only a few years old, really.a?
a?When did he buy it?a?
a?1984, I think.a? Uh-oh.
a?Was it new then?a?
a?Well, no. I think it was new in the early sixties, late fifties at the earliest.a? Wow.
a?ChaDad, I really donat know anything about cars. I wouldnat be able to fix it if something went wrong, and I couldnat afford a mechanic.a?
a?Really, Bella,a? he interjected. a?The thing runs great. They donat make them like that anymore.a?
Bella sighed. a?How cheap is a?cheapa?a?
a?Well, honey, I kind of already bought it for you, as a homecoming gift.a? Charlie glanced nervously at Bella out of the corner of his eye.
He did what now? a?You didnat have to do that, Dad. I was going to buy myself a car.a?
a?I donat mind. I want you to be happy here.a? Bella happy in Forks? Please.
a?Thatas really nice, Dad. Thanks. I really appreciate it.a?
Charlieas face grew red and his eyes stayed fixed on the road as Bella thanked him. He was never one to express his feelingsa
***
A little while later they arrived at Charlieas house. Bellaas truck was in the driveway.
One thing was trueathey certainly didnat make them like that anymore! It was old with worn out red paint and huge fenders and rims. She loved it.
Bella couldnat get over how much she liked it. She thanked Charlie over and over again until, exhausted, she went upstairs to her bedroom to unpack.
***
The next morning, Bella stood in front of the mirror with her brush in hand. She looked nothing like she should. Being raised in Phoenix, she should be tan. Not pale like she was. Realizing that she could do nothing about it now, she got dressed and slumped down the stairs to eat breakfast with Charlie.
It was quiet. Again. On her way out, Charlie gave her a hug and wished her good luck. a?Fat chance,a Bella thought to herse
@ Mizzuz Spock: Thanks a lot :) This really is almost rock bottom on my work. It's hard to base a story around something that isn't your idea, you know?
LMAO! Thanks, Tom :)

When my 98 Ford Escort has windows cracked or open the passengers and I smell exhaust fumes. When windows are closed and the fan and heater and air is on, no problem. Why do I smell exhause when windows are open? Where is this coming from under the car? Thanks for help. Jerry...

I just moved into an apartment in Pennsylvania. And I don't know exactly that if I can smoke in my apartment. There is a smoke detector in my room, but I got a window fan so I think I can smoke near my window and let the fans exhaust the smoke. Is it legal to smoke in an apartment in PA?

Our bathroom has a door, one window but no exhaust fan or anything to help extract the condnsation and moisture in the room after having a shower. After a shower, the mositure beads on the walls and mirror is very evident - we usually simply open the window after a shower to try and get rid of some of it. There is some mould growing on the ceiling but I can live with that for the time being. The main problem is simply drying our towels after a shower. There is no towel rail or wall hooks for the towels, and as this is a rental property we are not supposed to install those sorts of things .. we simply have been draping the towels over the shower wall and door. We make sure we squeegey the inside of the shower after every use. The real annoyance is our towels never dry properly, start to smell, and I find myself having to replace them every 2 days - but this creates extra laundry for me to do not to mention the eectricity expense of doing laundry so often just for towels. What should I do? I have thought about asking the landlord to install some sort of extract/exhaust fan for above the shower .. but I have also thought of simply buying a small dehumidifier for the bathroom (but these cost about $400). Please if you have had a similar problem or have any suggestions would you let me know. Id appreciate any advice on this, many thanks.

Just as the question says. Assume the room has open windows but all the doors are closed and no extra sealing was done. My roommate claims that an intake fan is better because it creates positive pressure in the room, which will disperse the gas elsewhere. I think you should use an exhaust fan because it will take all the air you don't want in the room out and bring in fresh air from other places.

I'm looking for the fastest way to evacuate gas, since they both eventually do the same task.
Argh, ignore the additional details. I thought this was an editing thing :(

i have a Fujitsu Siemens V5535 laptop (2.2ghz version) and it seem to generate a lot of heat for no real resin at all. and wondered if this was normal ?

99% of the time the fan/exhaust kicks it out even though am not running any heavy apps, like video transcodeing ..etc Task Manager shows my CPU at only 5-8 % in use. and i have 3 GB of ram so its not struggling to run the OS/Windows any ideas ? ... P.S the fan port/heatsink is clean !

Its just an exerpt of my story about tom riddle in the orphanage is it good for a 14 year old?

Little Hangleton had never been a busy place. It was so small, and the inhabitants so few and far between, that it could barely even be called a village, let alone a town. At the crack of dawn, August 30th, 1931, the only thing that moved in itas deserted streets was a large brown owl, looking as if it were returning home after a good nightas hunt.

But the owl - carrying an envelope that dangled from one of itas legs - was certainly not returning home. It was exhausted and longed to rest, but before it could settle peacefully on a perch itas envelope had to be delivered.

So the owl swooped down from the sky and landed on the windowsill of an overgrown, patchy looking brick house and tapped carefully on the glass with itas beak.

A Muggle-born, the owl thought to itself. It disapproved of such people; deliveries to them were often farther than the owl was accustomed and rarely rewarded. In fact, most of these strange humans shrieked or pulled at his feathers when he arrived with a letter for them.

So the owl, not caring to be walloped over the head with a newspaper before returning home, waited only until a pale dark-haired boy opened the window and flew off, dropping the letter into his startled hands.

a?What are you doing over there, Tom? Weare supposed to be getting dressed,a? Frederick called out from his end of the room, while he pulled a pair of pants onto his skinny legs.

He was always getting into everyoneas business, and Tom hated nosy people.

a?Never you mind, Gudgeon.a?

Frederick shrugged, a scowl on his face. He wasnat going to bother with the dark, unsociable boy. It would be his fault if he was caught undressed when the nuns came up to check on them, head have to face the consequences.

Tom Riddle turned back to the window, where he watched the large bird fly off into the rising sun with itas wings majestically spread. The eleven-year-old boy wasnat one to be easily surprised, but this was certainly a peculiar event, even in his eyes.

Therefore Tom stared in astonishment at the letter in his hands. He had never been sent one before in his whole life- he didnat know anyone other than the people at his Orphanage. So would write him, let alone by owl?

The letter had a purple a?Ha? stamped across the front, and an address:

Tom Marvolo Riddle
Boyas Dormitory nA? 15
Saint Paulas Orphanage
Little Hangleton

With a sudden increase in excitement, Tom tore open the envelope and pulled out the pieces of thick, yellowish paper that were inside. There were two in total. Something inside him stirred as he read the first letter, as if he had been waiting for it his entire life.

Dear Mr. Riddle,

We are pleased to inform you have been accepted to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. On the night of the 29th of August a special agent was sent from the Ministry of Magic to notify your guardians that you are magical.
Please note that the new school year will begin on September the first. The Hogwarts Express will leave from Kingas Cross station, platform nine and three-quarters, at eleven oa clock.
A list of books and necessary equipment is enclosed.

Yours sincerely,
Professor G. Schmidt
Deputy Headmistress

Tom stared. His dark eyes lingered on the words a?Ministry of Magica, a?Witchcrafta and a?Wizardrya. Was it some sort of joke? He didnat know anyone who would go through so much trouble to tease him, as unpopular as he was. Who would actually train an owl to drop off a letter? And the paper- resembling parchment- looked very authentic indeed.

But Tom was a very realistic boy and he had always scoffed at the superstitious tales his companions would tell him. He thought they were wivesa tales. But here was someone who claimed he was a wizard?

Tom Riddle had never been ordinary. As a matter of fact, he took pride in the odd things that happened to him and set him apart from the rest. Not long ago he had set Sister Stronkas hair on fire- just by thinking about it. Far from frightening him, Tomas abnormality was something he secretly treasured. He had always felt on some level that he was better than those who surrounded him, and that this superiority surpassed simple things like his intelligence and imagination.

Did that mean that the abnormality was magic? Tomas eyes flew again to the third line, a?a special agent was sent from the Ministry of Magic to notify your guardians that you are magicala. He wondered what Madam Stronkas temper would be like if she had recently been told her least favourite pupil, Tom Riddle, was a wizard. Tom smirked at the thought of her face, but it faded almost instantly. He seldom smiled, not having much reason to.

Ever since he was born, all he could remember were the confines of his orphanage. He had been told that- like so many of his companions- his mother had died giving birth to him and his father hadnat both

My in-room A/C has three modes: Cool, Dry and Fan. It has one exhaust hose for heat, that is removeable. According to the manual, the exhaust hose must be n place during cool mode. It says nothing of the other two modes with regard to the exhaust hose. Now, this hose has a window attachment for dispelling heat to the outside of the house and that works great for using the unit cool mode. Here is my problem; We already have central air in the new house, so the a/c portion of the unit is not needed but we still need to use the dehumidifier (dry mode). In dry mode, the unit still puts out cold air from the usual vent and blows hot air out of the exhaust vent. However, in this mode, I cannot set a thermostat level (digital thermostat) and the digital readout only gives a measure of the ambient room temperature. I want to run this unit in my living room, but I don't want to run this unsightly exhaust hose to my window in order to vent the heat. I want it to operate as a stand alone dehumidifier without a vent hose. Will this work without overloading the compressor? Is this typical of standalone dehumidifiers? Any help is appreciated. This was a $350 unit new, so I don't want to ruin it. Thanks in advance.

My partner and I are getting a new kitchen, and where the current exhaust fan is in the roof, is above a window. So we can't get rid of this, and put in a rangehood, or it will look silly covering the window. I am sure that you can get rangehoods that don't have to go up and through to the roof/outside though.. As since we can't use the existing hole in the roof, I don't know that I want to make another one... I am in Australia, so if anyone knows of anything, or any solutions we could try- everything and anything would be appreciated!

by increase dust, I wonder if it would 'scare up' the sitting dust more. Wd it be like 'waking up a sleeping dog'?

I notice a build up of dust on the window screen when the exhaust fan is working. my wife thought the exhaust fan is worsening the dust in the house. I thought it would be reducing it by removing it.

btw, we talking about among the strongest exhaust fans on the mkt, a 3670 cfm output in the window.
does gary understand that I am using the fan to EXHUST stagnent air from inside the house and blow it outdoors. his answer seemed to suggest that my fan was assisting the outdoor air movement INTO the house. Maybe he assumed that we had other windows open in the house - in which case there WOULD be a circulatory breeze around teh house and into any open window, thus assisting the outdoor breezes and also bringing in more outdoor dust. Instead, all of our windows are closed except for the one w/ Big Bertha, bloin' out (at the end of the 2nd floor hall in a 2 story house with an attic and a basement).
omg. it is EXHAUST and STAGNANT

I'm really stuck with the issue of neighbours next door to me and below me, who are chain smokers and their cigarette odour is seeping through my bathroom cupboards.
I have my windows open for fresh air, and the odour seems to find their way into my apartment, and pestered the landlord to find out what's wrong with the neighbour's exhaust fan? Also why is the exhaust fan sucking the odour into my bathroom from below? No responses....
I sat and thought after buying air freshers from time to time, also used incense. The neighbour across from me complains of my incense is making him sick? BUT his cigarette odour is making ME sick too!

My budget's so tight, thought hmm, If I knew of anyone that has good knowledge on Lush products, say a soap bar with a good strong scent of lavender, and I stash it in the bottom cupboard, would the scent last several months?

Any bright ideas to help me out here, I don't want to cause fights but I do want to be at peace and not be battling nausea from the ciggarette odour...
On 2nd thought, I have tried sprays, glade, and candles. They don't work in bathrooms...
I have two cupboards, I've sealed all cracks and creaves. One thing that's frowned upon, is the pipes. ERP!!!

It's coming from an apartment next door. His outside window is open and yet there is this loud exhaust fan. What could it be? I shone a torch at the window to see if it was an air conditioner but nothing seems visible.
I think it might have been a clothes dryer

Basically, EVERYone in my fiance's family smokes. Whether cigs or otherwise... And I don't like smoke. I get headaches from it. Now, we have 2 kids and the day I got out of the hospital, we went to see his grandmom and grandpop. His grandpop is almost totaly blind and he doesn't go anywhere alone, so he goes to the bathroom to smoke. In their home, there's no window in the bathroom (projects), but there's an exhaust fan. So he smokes, comes out and the smoke engulfs me and my 2 kids!!!! We got out after a couple of minutes, needless to say. Well, today is her b-day, and he wanted all of us to go over there. And I know them - when they have get-togethers, they smoke and drink the night away. So I told him I don't think the kis should go over there because of it. And he was cool with it, I just feel bad. I can't be around his family though, if they don't care. When I was pregnant, they, meaning them and whomever else is there, lit up in front of me and my fiancee had to tell them to leave. When my son was born, again they did it. I tried, but I don't like it. And they don't say anything about it unless we do... Should I feel bad? Is there an alternative?

tell me what you think of my book so far? i highly value your opinions!

Prologue
The Beginning

It was hot. Hot enough to fry an egg on the sidewalk, but too hot to even try. Listless branches hung to the ground too tired to dance in the breeze. Flowers drooped their heads and prayed for rain. Even the wind was exhausted, too worn out to even cool the heat, it just pushed the hot air around. It was the kind of day in which one should sit directly in front of a fan, or better yet an air conditioner. A day meant for books and some ice cold lemonade. Definitely not a day for strenuous activity. Most definitely not a day for running, unless of course you wished to pass out from heat exertion.

Had someone, tired of reading about the boy who lived, had happened to look out their window, they would have been surprised to see someone running. If it had been my mom, she would have tisked. She would have stated that someone had ought to know better. Mother would have wondered where was that poor child's mother, and she would have yelled after the girl to stop!

The girl ran but she was tired and hot. Sweat matted her curls down and the effort had made her cheeks red and her breath come out in rasping gasps. She had come such a long way already, at a pace that suggested her life depended on it. It very well did. The Torments were fast approaching.

Torments were ugly and malicious little creatures. Their ears were almost as big as they were, and hairy to boot. They had skinny knobby bodies covered in patches of long smelly hair, and although they were only about twenty inches high they were quite fierce. Once set loose they would not stop till they had their prey, and they had but to touch them. Their touch caused such tremendous mental anguish that they need no rope to bind with.

Reluctantly, Everly stopped and leaned up against a solid oak to catch her breath. The sound of nearby twigs snapping urged her forward, so she brushed the sweaty curls from her brow and continued to run. The Torments were gaining. All they could think of was the girl and they raced after her never losing her from their sight. She could feel the yellow eyes boring into her back. Sweat poured down her temples, and her side ached and begged her to stop but still she ran. She had to. She had stolen the First Book and there was no turning back now. The book clutched to her chest didnat look like anything special. It was bound in age mottled leather and was rather worn but she held it like something precious.

Ahead of her loomed the Formidable Forest, the most dangerous place in REM. The girl ran in without a seconds thought. She had to get away from the Torments. A safe haven for the book must be found. In her haste she never noticed the glowing. Everly just ran right through the yellow and green swirling vortex that had suddenly opened ahead of her. If she had seen it, she probably wouldave gone around it to some other adventure, but that would be a different story.

She noticed she was suddenly alone. Nausea rumbled in her belly as the whirlwind tossed and turned her about. Then her heart painfully flip flopped as she came plummeting down.

Chapter 1
When dreams come true

Skye Larkin tossed and turned. Then he punched his pillow and turned again. Under his eyelids his eyes moved back and forth frantically. His dreams were disturbing him. It was so vivid, he felt as if he was right there. He saw a man in a dark suit and shades laughing. This man was holding something. Something powerful and important. The dream wouldnat let him see what that item was. Then the man noticed the boy and turned his intense blue eyes upon him. Skye and the man locked eyes. Suddenly he felt a crushing pressure on his chest knock him flat. It sucked the breath out of him and filled him with pain. The dream had quickly turned into a nightmare. He needed to get out. He needed to wake up.

Skye opened his eyes. a?Umff,a? he said a?get offa me.a?

Everly scrambled off of the boyas bed. Her face was bright pink. a?Iam Sorry,a? she replied.

a?What the heck is going on?a? he asked. a?Y-y-you just landed on my chest!a?

Prologue

The Beginning

It was hot enough to fry an egg on the sidewalk, but too hot for anybody to stay and watch. Everyone stayed in the cool comfort of their homes. Listless branches hung to the ground too tired to dance with the wind. Even the wind was exhausted, too worn out to even cool the heat, it just pushed the hot air around. It was the kind of day in which one should sit directly in front of a fan, or better yet an air conditioner, with a book and some ice cold lemonade. Definitely not a day for strenuous activity. Most definitely not a day for running, unless of course you wished to pass out from heat exertion.

Had someone, tired of reading about the boy who lived, had happened to look out their window, they would have been surprised to see someone running. If it had been your mom, she would have tisked and stated that someone had ought to know better. She would have wondered where was that poor child's mother, and she would have yelled after the girl to stop!

The girl ran on but she was tired and hot. Sweat matted her curls down and the effort had made her round cheeks red and her breath come out in rasping gasps. She had come such a long way already, at a pace that suggested her life depended on it, which it very well did.

Reluctantly, the girl stopped and leaned up against a solid oak to catch her breath.

Ahead of her loomed the Hairy Forest, the most dangerous place in REM, but the girl ran in without a second thought. She had to get away from the Torments. She had to find a safe haven for the book.

In her haste she never noticed the glowing. Everly just ran right through the yellow, blue and green swirling vortex of light that had suddenly opened ahead of her. If she had seen it, she probably wouldave gone around it to some other adventure, but that would make this a very different story. In fact there might not be any story at all, except that she did see it.

The sudden quiet made her realize she was suddenly alone. Nausea rumbled in her belly as the tumbling sensation hit. Everly was falling and it seemed like a very long way down.
if you want to give constructive criticism, it would be appreciated. thank you.

if you read this yesterday i have added to it to try and get it to flow better. thank you!
she is not the main character,, she will become the main characters sidekick.
chapter 1 will introduce the main character a boy.

also the girl is not on earth. she is on REM.
on REM it would be natural to see such creatures running.
camkitsu a lot of good pointers... specially about the torments. that was something i added due to people telling me to yesterday, lol. saying it was too vague and wth is a torment ect.....
i think i will remove it tho, like you suggest
what if the first sentence was changed to.

It was hot enough to melt your shoes right off your feet.

i know i did one before this but i changed it a lot and i was wondering if it was any better?

Carlisle.

She had asked me to do it, to help him live. I was alone, in need of a companion. His mother had passed away and nobody would pay enough attention to realise he was missing. August 18th, it was in the height of the Spanish Influenza epidemic and people were dying every minute. He was dying also and if i did not help him when i did he would have soon followed his mothers and fathers footsteps.
I strode into the west hospital wing, sliding my arms through my white jacket just as another day was ending. Twilight is the safest time of day for my kind and so I had chosen to take the night shifts. Being heavily greeted as usual by the nurses and other patients, I took the old stairwell to the top level. Sighing heavily, I realised many new patients had been sent here during the day as a few hundred had passed away. It was part of mortal life to die and I could not escape the fact that many would not come out of this epidemic alive. I put on a welcoming smile as I walked past the crowded wards until I came to a large wooden door with a big black a?5a on the front, telling me it was my assigned ward. Opening the door a familiar smell of detergent still hung limply in the stuffed room. The ward was long, with around forty beds closely shoved next to each other, the influenza wasnat getting any better and we only had limited spaces available. The walls which were once a newly painted white were now fading into an unpleasant dirty yellow and the floors were in need of cleaning. These conditions were not the best, but that was not my worry. Many of my patients were seriously ill, and in all my years of studying medicine it pleased me no more than to cure them.
Sweat glistened as it rolled down the pale cheeks of the boy. His name was Edward Mason and he was just 17. With his rich forest green eyes closed, his limp body lay motionless on the bed. Damp with sweat, his hair was a rusty bronze, messy and greasy. Edward had many of his mothersa features; her perfect structure was strangely built in to her son. He was beautiful and it was clear that he was her son. Quiet groans frequently emerged from his fragile lips. I couldnat just stand there and watch this innocent boy die. He had his whole life in front of him, but it was stolen, just as my whole human existence was taken away from me. The decision had to be made now. Every second, he was slipping closer into unconsciousness.
I acted on instinct that second. I quickly scanned the dirty white room, looking for anybody who would be paying attention. I drew an ugly patterned curtain around his cubicle for privacy .Of course nobody would come in. The would think he was dead already, so I took a step closer to the boy and held his warm face in my stone cold grasp. He did not fight or try to get away from my touch. Instead he welcomed the cool feeling of my palms; too exhausted to even try to talk he just opened his eyes and gave me a thankful look. I closed the inches from his neck to my lips. All these centuries of teaching myself how to control my vile hunger for human blood could all be wasted, I could lose myself, if I lost control for just one seconda
I knew I could do it, I controlled my thirst for many years and the once sweet and tempting smell of human blood did now not affect me. This wasnat about me anymore. I slowly opened my lips, took a breath and bit down into his flesh. His pulse was slow but the blood was still flowing warm and luscious. His pulse violently stuttered and increased as the venom was taking action, slowly changing him from mortal to immortal. As my venom flowed silently into his bloodstream he writhed and screamed in agony. Edward was burning from my venom and I had to get him out of hereaand fast.
Ripping the curtain away, I grabbed the boy and quickly carried him protectively in my arms. Running at human speed through the corridor, many concerned eyes fell on the struggling body in my arms, I just kept on going. I needed to get to the back building where a window opened onto a forgotten alleyway. When I was out of human eyes, I broke into a full run. Dashing down the stairs and whipping through doors. His heart rate was slowing but I needed to keep him breathing. Reaching the back of the hospital, I thrust the stiff window open, cradled Edward in my iron cage grip and jumped. With a soft thud we landed on the stone ground. He was confused and in agony.
Still cradling Edward, we ran through the night. The tight streets were empty but I could hear the scuttle of rats in the alleyways, the quiet dripping of the nearby drains and the loud and drunken laughs muffled by walls. A harsh scent of alcohol and tobacco fumes burned my nostrils as we passed pubs. Eventually, we reached the edge of the dense forest. Edwardas expression was pained and he could not keep quiet for long. No matter, we were nearly at my house. The place I didnat

THANKS FOR THE HELP!

I live close to the ocean and have a terrible mold & mildew problem in my bathroom, the bathroom has a window which I keep open to let the steam out, and an ineffective exhaust fan, what can I do to get rid of the mold and keep it gone?

I was steaming artichokes in a copper/steel pan, took my dogs for a walk, and came in and the pan was burned dry, the house was full of smoke, and I cannot seem to get the awful smell out.

Here is what I tried:
Exhaust fan plus central air exchange with windows open
Got the pan out of the house after I realized the smell wasn't washing off.
Burned a soy candle for awhile.
Used Febreze spray. (That worked best.)
Started a load of laundry and dishwasher to get good smells going.
Put a small pot of water on the stove with whole Christmas spices to freshen the air.

Its been about an hour, and the smoke is gone, but the smell is still strong, and now ther are several competing smells. We live in Michigan, and its not really warm enough to keep the windows open. Any other ideas?

I live on the upper floor of a two story apartment building.
The buildings in my complex are pretty close together, and pretty much identical, except that her bathroom has a wndow, where mine has an exhaust fan where the window should be.

A privacy fence runs between the buildings, but it's only about 6 feet high. So when she looks out her bathroom window, she can see a wooden fence, and if she looks up, the broad side of an apartment building, with no windows. Just an exhaust fan. So she never bothered to put up blinds, or curtains, or a shade, or any type of window covering.

But all I have to do is look between the slats of the fan, and I have a perfect view of her bathtub, in which she takes a bubble bath every night.

She's about 20 years old. Blonde. And slim---except for an enormous rack! She dresses very modestly, and doesn't seem to have a boyfriend. So I don't think anybody but me truly appreciates the size of her breasts!

I know I don't have any legal obligation to stop looking at her, but I'm starting to feel guilty for staring at her every night. I've even moved a barstool, and a camera tripod into my bathroom!

What should I do???
Having an opinion different from yours doesn't make someone a troll. Maybe you're a troll? Did you ever think of that, "miss america" ?
