coleman generator

About 2 years ago we had an ice storm in the area that I live and all the power went out, so I had to run out and get a generator. The generator I purchased was the Coleman Powermate Generator and let me tell you it sure came in handy ...a? Coleman Quickbed in Prince Chapel a?, a? Generator Oil in Denwood a?, a? Coleman Power Generator in KS a?, a? Coleman Geosport in MAINE a?, a? Coleman Subaru Generator in LA a?, a? 15000 in Whiting a?, a? Williamsburg in FL a? ...industrial in CALIFORNIA a?, a? Tools in MARYLAND a?, a? Stores.powermate in Cedar Stock a?, a? Pm0535000 in SC a?, a? 10000 in KENTUCKY a?, a? 6250 Watt Coleman Powermate Generator in MO a?, a? Pm0435003 in IOWA a?, a? Sp in MO a? ...Coleman PM0435003 Powermate 5000 Watt 10 HP Portable Generator a? Powermate Premium 6250 Plus Generator a? Magna Force 5000 10 Hp Generator a? Pma505622 Magna Force 5000 10 Hp Generator Coleman Powermate ...Related Products: a? Coleman PM0435003 Powermate 5000 Watt 10 HP Portable Generator a? Coleman Generator - 5000/6250 Watt 10hp Tecumseh, Recoil Start, Cast Iron Sleeve, Low Oil Shutdown a? Briggs & Stratton Portable Generator ...a? Coleman Subaru Generator a?, a? Web a?, a? Coleman Powermate 5000 Generator Subaru air compressor a?, a? Powermate 5000 Subaru a?, a? Page a?, a? Recreational a?, a? 4 a?, a? Coleman Powermate Generator Subaru a?, a? Briggs a? ...a? 201.50 in River Ridge Run a?, a? View in CA a?, a? Coleman Powermate 6250 Watt Portable Generator in AL a?, a? B in NH a?, a? Powermate Generator in NEVADA a?, a? Progen in Borculo a?, a? Help in AL a?, a? Listing in MI a? ...a? Coleman 1000w Generator carb a?, a? Coleman 2000w Generator a?, a? Coleman 4000 Generator a?, a? Coleman 533 Generator a?, a? Coleman Generator reviews a?, a? Coleman 1000w 5000w Generator a?, a? 1000w Generator Coleman powermate a? ...Hiking a?, a? Globes a?, a? Information a?, a? Use a?, a? Today a?, a? Diagram a?, a? 8.99 a?, a? Reliable a?, a? starter Coleman Generator 31210za0-982 31210za0-983 a?, a? Coleman stove Generator repair a?, a? Deere a?, a? Coleman a? ...I have a Coleman generator 5kw. Im goin to be hiting the texas surf this wknd and plan on doing some night fishing from the beach , I dont have a generator but several 12 volt deep cycle batterys . Or would a good old coleman lantern work better than electric lights ? thanks

if not what are their drawbacks

I have a generator that won't stay on, I've messed with the choke/ the turn settings, need help anyone, can't find the owners manual online. the sticker reads/ model # 544000 88/6654 4000w ac 120/240

I have a Coleman generator. In the summer I run 30 oil. In the winter I have been running 10w30 but I still find it hard to start on cold Canadian winter night. I would like to use synthetic oil to help with the starting. (recoil start) Is there any reason not to? What type of synthetic should I by?

I am trying to understand how much power this generator can have before I buy it. It is a Coleman 6250 maximum watts generator. If you have any clue, it would be appreciated. Thank you!

I bought a generator real cheap off this guy. It is a coleman 3500 watt with a briggs and stratton engine. It had circuit breaker reset switches originally for each receptacle but they have been removed. I was wondering if there is a fault if it will still cut off power internally and if it does cut off power will it reset itself if I just restart the motor? Please only folks that know what they are talking about. I do electrical work but I don't know the internal circuitry of this generator. Thanks
Like I said I believe it is just the reset toggle switch not the actual breaker. I know you need over current protection.

My 5000 watt coleman suffered a feedback of electricity. Should I replace the rotor or stator?

I pushed the white circuit breakers to the off position and now have no power for circuits.

it has a new starter ,new battery, but when i turn the key nothing happens

I have a 5kw Coleman generator. The engine is no longer running. Is it possible to convert the generator to run on solar power ? If so what would I need to do. I have year round sunshine.

Quick question, I had an idea when i was riding the bike at the gym
looking at the watts created by cycling.
Since i have a large pool, is it possible to use a stationary bike,
connect up a generator, which then heats a coil , then run
some water from the pool thru it and heat the water by
cycling the bike, thereby exercising and heating your
pool for free?
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Coleman
i understand using a generator to convert mechanical to electical energy, my question was can that electrical output be modified to somehow heat a coil or other device that would at least warm the water , i understand it certainly would'nt be boiling hot.

I just bought a used Coleman Maxa 5000 gas generator with a 10HP Tecumseh engine. I measured the output at no load and it was 140V. I plugged in my shopvac which brought the engine speed down to 120V. Turned off the shopvac and the output went back up to 140V. I am worried about damaging overvoltage and surge when I actually need to use the generator. Is this the way it's supposed to be? If not, how can I "slow" the engine down? Thanks for any help.

Coleman gas generator. Should I keep gas in it or run it and let it run dry? I left gas in for over a year it it wouldnt start so i had to get it serviced..they tuned it up now i have it back w/ about 2 gallons of gas in threre..its 5 gallon tank..5500 watt generator.

We purchased a Coleman Convenience Cord which is 30 amps. Our generator is 20 amp and the plug does not fit. Does anyone know if there is an adapter that we can purchase to make this work?

you also have to excite the generator everytime it gets used. Any permanent fix other than replacement.

I own a Coleman 1200 watt generator and I've tried to run 4 different microwaves and none of them will heat a plate.(only very little) Of course they all run fine when plugged into the house. All the microwaves were around the 750 watt range. Is there a way to make it work?

won't charge unless i adjust the little blue screw on the side of the voltage regulator, then it will produce for a little bit then it stops again,is the avr bad?

I have a Powermate Maxa 5,000ER generator & need to know how to start it, it is 14degrees here right now. Thanks.
It has a rocker switch also & I need to know which way is "On" when I,m pulling the rope. It has an "O" on it but I don,t know if it should be up or down when I,m cranking the motor.
I do not have a users manual. Can,t find one online either.

I have a Coleman Portable 10 HP 5000 watt generator. Can this be used with gas line antifreeze and fuel stabilizer in the gasoline?

i'm wondering if polarity is an issue when replacing a capacitor on a coleman generator. I don't see any plus or minus on the contact points and there is a green and blue wire connected to the capacitor.

i have a coleman powermate 1750 generator and i need to find out what type of oil it uses. HELP!!

coleman powermate extended run 5000

I have a Coleman Vertex 7500 watt generator the motor runs fine i just don't have any power to the plugs.I have checked for any loose wires and the resets everything checks good the motor runs good i just don't have any power to the plugs.

copper tank,cast iron burners

This a backup generator and I need to replace the oil.

A very similar question was asked about a year ago and the consensus was "no." But I am 100% positive that three years ago, there was someone from Coleman at our local Lowe's who said it could be done. I was to go back later for the explanation and to buy the equip but my power came back on.

FYI. My house is equipped with the 220V, four prong plug in in the rear of the house to accept the power. And I have that equipment. So, all I really need to know is how to hook the generators together. Thanks.

coleman powermate vantage 5000

engine Model #185432
Generator model #PM0475003
a wiring diagram would be helpful. went to both briggs and coleman websites but couldn't find diagram for this generator.

Ive got a coleman powermate generator. It has not been crancked in about a year. I cleaned exhaust, plug , put fresh gas and got it to start it ran good for about 5 min then started dying out. I shut it off and looked at the carb and gas was pouring out the carb intake. Whats wrong?? I also sprayed starter and wd40 fluid into the intake to get it to crank. Please help. thanks

I have a Coleman powermate sport 1850 portable generator. The model number is PMC401851 and the serial number is 74492803. I don't know where the manual is and I need one to be sent to my house. Do you think they'd send one to my house for free? If not, how much would it cost? Who do I contact for the cheapest price for themanual? Sources?

I have a 4000 run-watt Coleman power mate generator. Also have a Campbell-Hausfeld air compressor. The compressor is plugged directly into the generator. The first time the compressor starts, it starts and runs fine until it shuts off when the tank is full. When the air pressure in the tank drops below the preset pressure, the compressor comes back on but has a hard time (runs a little slow) and then trips the breaker on the generator after only a few seconds. The air compressor info plate states the compressor pulls 15 amps at 120 volts. That is 1800 watts. The generator outputs 4000 watts. Plenty of power to run the compressor. What gives? It works fine the first time the compressor comes on. It doesn't struggle at all. The very next time, it has a hard time getting the compressor motor started and upto full speed. It always trips the breaker. Works fine on house power tho. I really don't think its a generator problem but maybe someone else can tell me more? Any comments appreciated

Tecumseh 5HP engine on a lightly used 11 year old coleman generator. Runs fine when I need it.

With power out at house and water rising in the sump pump, it ran out of gas after running fine on a full tank. I filled it up again, pressed the rubber primer bulb a few times and it started up fine and stalled within a couple seconds - air in the line? I repeat a few times and same problem. I check line from tank to carb - gas flows freely. repeat, same .

undid bolt on bottom of carb, shook out gas / some silt. put it together. something makes me think to put duct tape on rubber bulb. Between these, it starts and runs fine for hours.

ran out again & i take the tape off bulb. refill and problem reoccurs. I reapply tape and same problem. I slather grease on bulb to seal any cracks.. still have problem.

If I keep priming while engine starts, I get it running. then I held in the bulb very forcefully and it keeps running. then after 5 min I release pressure and it runs 4 hours
the grease and duct tape didn't help the 2nd time (duct tape then when that failed - the grease). I didn't see how the bulb would come out - no snap ring that I could see. Does it come apart from the inside? That and difficultiy finding a bulb, bring it to a shop? And after 10 years, do you recommend replacing gas lines (and what else?). hasn't had a tune up. just oil changes.

anyone know what a coleman 5000 9hp briggs and stratton generator is worth these days?

I have a Coleman 6750 generator with a Briggs and Stratton engine which runs well but is noisy. Has anyone made modifications to such a set up to make it run more quietly? I believe they sell better mufflers somewhere for about $80. That's not cheap for an otherwise good engine and I have no idea how effective they are. Does boxing the generator in (with vents in the encasement) help much? I wonder why they sell good equipment like this with such noisy engines. Recommendations and accounts of experiences would be appreciated.

can i run a washing machine with a coleman powermate 1800 powerpulse ex?

I'm looking for a portable power generator to run a TV and Direct TV at our tailgates. I've researched the Honda EU1000i, Coleman Powermate 1800, and Subaru 1000w generators. I think the Honda is the best but also much more money than I want to spend. I would like a generator that will not have to be filled constantly, not too loud, and will last a while. My budget is $300-$400. Does anyone have any suggestions? Is the Coleman a good piece of equipment? How loud is it? Thanks

Here's one for all of you with electrial expertise. The camper is a 1989 Coleman Columbia. Hubby thinks he can plug the camper power cord to an extension cord, cut the opposite end off of the extension and connect the wires to the AC plug fitting for the generator. I said since there's no way to convert the 220 volt source down to 120 volt, that this is not a wise or safe idea. He's insistent that his idea will work and I have visions of a burning camper. Any input on this would be greatly appreciated.

I have a coleman lantern model 275 that is not very bright. I have put in a new generator but that did not fix the problem. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I have a Coleman generator with a 10 hp Briggs and Stratton, is extremely loud.

where do i find a replacement Gusset for the fuel line/tank???

Hi,
Someone is selling me his Coleman 5000 watts generator for $150. don't know much about generator but know I need one for this summer because last year we had a black out and had to deal with the hot weather.
Wonder if it's good and will it run a fan and household appliance?
it's brigg and tratton engine. the guys say it's in good condition and only need to pull it 1 or maybe twice. It has elecrtric press START but battery is dead. That shouldn't be much to buy new battery right? he is selling it because he is moving out of state and doesn't want to take it along.

I have a Coleman Manual transfer switch wired to my main panel for my generator but no manual. It was already installed when I bought the house. When I use the generator during power outages do I need to turn off the main breaker in my panel? What is the proper way to use the transfer switch?
