i have to research the two main types of exhaust silencer, but i cant think what they are. =S i know one of them is an absorption silencer, but i can't for the life of me think what the other type is. any help would be greatly received. =)


Well, I was wondering if I really needed to overclock my CPU, or if it's worth it. Here are my specs:

AMD Phenom II X4 945 ~3.0 GHz [Quad-Core]
ASUS M4N82 Deluxe
EVGA GTX 295
4 GB DDR2 RAM 1066MHz
Silencer 750W PSU
Auzentech X-Plosion 7.1 Cinema Sound Card
Western Digital 1 TB Caviar Green HDD

I've never overclocked anything before, I've done a bit of research on it. I'd say my case has pretty decent cooling. The CPU does use the stock fan, I don't intend on buying better cooling either. If I do wind up overclocking it, I was thinking of doing it to 3.4 GHz, is that too much?

We research to decrease sound of 8 vents ( 2 inches)of 2 deaeratos(4 vents for each deaerator).Deaeratos height from ground is about 19m. 40 ton/hr steam at 210 C & 4 bar & 270 ton/hr DMW inter to each deaerator & DMW exit at 150C.
Pressure of deaerator is 3.5 bar.The valves of deaerators vents is normaly open about 15%.About 5 ton/hr steam lost from
each deaerator.
Here is a question'do installtion silencer for vents decrease sound high effectively & don't increase pressure of deaerators?
(Although installation silencer for deaerators of boilers not customery)

Hi ive been researching skis for several months and need advice on what to buy.I want to look into twin tips because im starting to hit the terrain park and want to ride switch.Im 5 feet 7 inches and weigh 125lbs im lookin for a ski around 159cm.Ive been lookin at skis and im lookin into last years or the year before that model.Here are what im lookin at right now:

I am writing a short story. There is a protagonist with a very limited amount of resources at his disposal locked in a very unhappy situation. He has gotten a hold of a gun and I want to find a way within the items I have in the enviroment in the story for him to be able to jimmy-rig some type of home-made silencer for use with the gun he got in the story.
Is there a "Logical" way to put that together with basic items. For example right now I have him having access to a sheet. Since his limited resources are there...then I can probably find a way to explain how he could get other basic items. Maybe a fork or spoon. A pillow or something. Any advice?

Robocop was a pretty good movie. In the movie, Clarence Bodiker uses a Desert Eagle and at the point he kills the OCP exec, he puts a silencer on his desert eagle to shoot him quietly... (even though moment later he uses a grenade to blow up the entire house).

Is there really a silencer for the Desert Eagle? The one Clarence had looked as if it was made specifically for the Desert Eagle - as if Magnum Research inc had designed it to be an add on.


Research says potatoes, pillows, condoms, and jam it into the body to muffle the sound. Any suggestion for muffling the sound for multiple gunshots aside from a silencer that is realtively available and portable? I understand it is difficult to find/get a real silencer.
